Fu Chi Slots
There are an awful lot of Asian themed games on the slot world, aren't there? For us, having reviewed so many of them, they all look kind of the same after a while. They usually feature some kind of lotuses, some dragons, various statues, and all kinds of other things that you would come to associate with that region in particular. Fu Chi slots game in that way does not manage to stand out almost at all whatsoever. It is an Asian themed game that looks quite a bit like the other Asian themed games on the market, and does not manage to do a better job than almost any of them that we can think of off the top of our head.
The game play here does attempt to make up for this. There are all kinds of free spins, double the number of pay lines that you are probably used to, and some truly great progressive jackpots. With that in mind, however, there are a number of games that have done this kind of thing a lot better floating around, including on this very website! Dragon Orbs, for example, is a wonderfully done game with a beautiful art style and a much larger budget then this one would ever be able to muster. That and more are ones that we can recommend easily. Other games are a much harder sell in this very competitive genre, however, which leaves this game somewhat lacking a place for itself, and making us wonder where it fits into the grander scheme of things when all of those other games are out there and all equally accessible to players like us.
If you simply love Asia to death, then this one will at least be good enough to give a try. If you want something a little better, however, there are so much better slots out there on this exact theme, with much better artwork, gameplay, and far more personality than this one manages to have.
What is This Slot About?
This game is all about Asia, and China in particular. The zodiac symbols are largely the focus here, with one in particular being prominent, as it was made for the year of the dog. This explains a lot of the artwork, but not the complete lack of charm that most of the graphics tend to take. If they had worked the elements of the zodiac into further things here, and all manner of other things that could've kept it more interesting, we would have had a much better time with it. As it stands, we love dogs, but we did not love the way they were featured in this game!
How Does the Game Actually Play?
The gameplay here is a lot better than the artwork, although we do appreciate the artwork for what they tried to do. Everything here that you have come to associate with games that are backed by real time gaming itself is in full effect, with five reel's, double the number of pay lines at 50, and many free spins to be found all around! This includes very accessible betting amounts, which can go as little as a penny a coin, and still allows players to take greater risks if they are willing to put down a few dollars for a spin. This is alongside the large progressive jackpots, which are always a welcome addition to any game! Life is better with progressive jackpots, as we always say, or as the old Chinese proverb goes. it is one of the two, we can't remember which!
There are many things to match here, most of which we could not describe to you because they are written in Chinese characters! We do love that aspect of it, and aside from those Chinese characters, you will match the zodiac symbol for the dog, a red bag of money that is traditional to the culture, some nice looking Chinese fans, a yellow Lotus, and something that looks a little bit like a tangerine! Again, we have no idea.
How's it Look?
Is not a poorly drawn game by any measure. All of the artwork is well done, looks very authentic, and we really do appreciate their use of authentic Chinese characters over playing cards. What we did not like about the artwork, however, is that it all feels somewhat stiff and rigid. None of it quite has the enthusiasm that some of the other games on the market have, and it ends up feeling a little bit boring for that reason. It's not bad, and the colors are all well chosen, but it feels somehow old and bland by comparison to all the other games that you could be playing with a single click!

Who is the Ideal Audience of this Particular Slot?
If you love Asian theme slots, then this one will likely be good enough to hold you for a little while, but not deep or immersive enough to keep your interest for all that long. If you are into big jackpots, there is a lot to like here, but be forewarned that it does get bland very quickly, and there are far better games out there!
Summing it All Up - Should You Play This Fine Game?
Summing it up, Fu Chi Slots is a game that tries pretty hard to be a great Chinese themed slot about the year of the dog, but does not manage to stand out in almost anyway, and is hard to recommend when there is such steep competition all around for this genre, and online casino games in general. Still, give it a try if you love dogs! And Asian things of course.
