The Elf Wars slot game is part of the Rudolph's Revenge series, or maybe technically those games are a part of this series. No matter how you look at it, there is a series of games out there about Santas Little helper's and all things Christmas going to war, which looks absolutely wonderful, and it's hard not to smile when you see it. We absolutely love this theme, the gameplay included, and the production values in each and every entry into the series. Whether this is your first time into the series, or you have played all the rest, you will absolutely love this game, even if you hate slots. They really did that great of a job here, transcending the genre itself, and even the gameplay that everyone is limited to here.

If you love Christmas, high-quality artwork, and winning lots of money, and also have a good sense of humor, then you owe it to yourself to play this game immediately!

What is This Slot About?

This is part of a series of games around a central theme of Christmas having gone to crap, and there being a battle among all the workers. Rudolph, the Elves, Santa, everybody is all over the damn place shooting and blasting each other in an epic battle to determine the fate of Christmas and the holiday season. It's all a big vibrant parody that you don't see anywhere else, and we really enjoy the way this series of games is coming together. It makes you love, looks lovely, and the narrative elements of the different games all play off of one another quite well!

How Does the Game Actually Play?

For a game about Christmas, this game doesn't disappoint! Most thematic games go lite on the gameplay and forget it in favor of a higher art budget. And although the art budget here is off the charts to be sure, the mechanics themselves are no slouch! They brought everything real time gaming has come to be known for, including the classic 5 reel layout - classic now because of how much they have popularized it - and the 50 pay lines, double what you would usually be seeing across that number of reels. The bets can go very high as well, from pennies to dollars, all the way up to $5 a coin. The most you can wager in one go is $250, which is about twice as much as you can in most other games, largely due to the number of pay lines being multiplied by 2.

Those progressive jackpots are obviously a big draw here, as they are in almost all of these games. Or maybe that's just our tastes! The Santa Strikes Back feature keeps things fresh as well, coming in at a rapid pace to increase your bank account and all for as little as just a penny to get started!

You can match a very wide variety of things here, all of which are a parody of Christmas, and cute to look at. There are all manner of that elves, some Christmas pudding, a free bucket of food, the good elves on the other side of the battle, some jingle bells, a naughty list, a north pole sign post that will be blown up, Rudolph himself, Santa Claus, a snowman, and all kinds of toys wrapped up to look like playing cards.

How's it Look?

The game itself looks absolutely amazing! They did a great job here, as they have on the rest of the games in this holiday parody series. Although they do bear a resemblance to one another due to the theme, and the artist of course being the same, they are all differently done enough to keep them individually interesting and don't all feel the same or anything like that. It's a great way to enter into the holidays by seeing the things you're used to hanging up and going about go so well in this game. It's very colorful, looks painterly, and the art style is clearly done by someone that knows what they are doing when it comes to the character work on display here. We would not change anything about the game in that regard, and love the reels and all else on display. We wish we could decorate our place as nicely as they've done with this game, the war theme aside!

What We Enjoyed

We We Didn't Much Care For

- That they haven't made another one of these games yet!

Who is the Ideal Audience of this Particular Slot?

If you're a fan of the Christmas revenge series featuring Rudolph and others, then this game will obviously be on your list. It's one of the better ones in that line, featuring the same wonderful graphics and art style as the rest, the biting sense of humor, and the other elements that have come together to make those games great. For everyone else that's new to the series, it also serves as a wonderful entry point into it, being very accessible and laying the groundwork for the rest.
