Lucky 8 Slots
There are many games filled with Asian people on the market, each of which usually has a very high production value and a wonderful sense of style. This is why they are so beloved, and you see so many of them. Lucky 8, however, falters quite a bit in that way, and makes for a hard recommendation for that reason. It certainly does not look bad, and the progressive jackpots are as big as any in the business, but there is not a lot to look at here that is going to leave a good impression on you, and the whole thing feels relatively bland and under done.
If you can get over a lot of that, simply love Chinese culture enough to play anything with that sort of theme, or are a huge fan of this era of human history, then you can still likely have a wonderful time here. For everyone else, however, we are unsure how much of this game will hold your attention. There are so many better games on the market that have done similar things, did them a whole lot better, and pay just as well, if not better, that this game. Still, it is worth giving it a try, as you can start off at just a single penny. You owe it to yourself to at least try it, so we can recommend doing it right now!
What is This Slot About?
In Chinese culture, the number 8 has special meaning. It's meant to symbolize a variety of things, including longevity, and infinite itself. They worked this into an otherwise vague game that's mostly about Asian emperors, but the title of it will make more sense if you go in knowing that little tidbit. Without it, and it's basically 'Asian stuff' all over the place that pays out frequently. And although we wouldn't complain about that, it's not quite as interesting as what would otherwise be the case with some of the other themes in the slot world!
How Does the Game Actually Play?
This is the game's main redeeming feature. Whether it's that win-win feature that pays out way better than most bonus modes, the real time gaming goodness you'll find in things like the jackpots or the betting amounts, or the pace of the play, there's a lot to like here when it comes to this. If you're cheap, put down 10 cents. If you're bold, lay down $5 for a coin. And the bets across the 25 pay lines, also standard, go all the way up to a grand total of $125 for a single spin. This is fine and good and we wouldn't change a thing about that.
You'll also be matching a variety of things, most of which are just cards. Aside from those playing cards, there are various Chinese emperors, and a wonderful gong. The emperors themselves look lovely, although we admittedly have little way to differentiate them, and they all kind of look the same after a while.
How's it Look?
This is a hard game to place when it comes to the graphics. Some people will appreciate what they were trying to do when they made this game. It's a nice take on the ancient Chinese empires, and is presented reasonably well enough to get by. It all looks a little bland and boring, however, largely being made of portraits of people that do not look all that interesting, won't be recognized by the grand majority of people in the world, and across a color scheme that looks very uninspired. Everything looks good if you were trying to consider all of this stuff for a history book or something of that nature. In the slot world, however, we are used to being entertained to a higher degree, which doesn't seem to be what they were going for here when they made this game unfortunately.
They also made used of playing cards for a good portion of the reels, which in this case considering all else, makes it more boring than it otherwise would be.

Who is the Ideal Audience of this Particular Slot?
Asia fans will certainly eat this one up, particularly if you're a history buff or anything of that nature. It does well in that regard and is an authentic presentation of what things may have looked like back then. For everyone else, however, you'll have to go on the progressive jackpots to keep you interested. For us, that's more than enough to keep us going. It may not be the case for all players, however, so we can see some folks giving this game a pass for that reason.
Summing it All Up - Should You Play This Fine Game?
Summing it up, Lucky 8 Slots is definitely not the best game to tackle this theme, and certainly not the best game to pay out in the amounts that it does. It is worth your time, and you certainly won't forget that aspect of it. Let it be known, however, that if you have not played that many slots, there are still far better ways to start off, and far better games to get through before you get to this one. You did make it to the end of this review, however, so you might as well jump into this one right now to check it off your list. Like we said, you can jump in for just a few cents, making this a great way to start your slot career, or simply another addition to your belt if you are someone that has played quite a few of them! That certainly describes us, and we are always willing to give almost any of them a try.
