Of all the games about Asia in the slot world, White Lotus has to be one of the most low-key we have ever seen. It is not bad in any way, but the subtlety of the art style and the user interface is quite striking. It is metaphorical in someways, as that is part of Chinese aesthetics. Despite that, the game still manages to be very entertaining, thanks in no small part too impressive jackpots, as well as betting amounts. Sure, there are probably better games out there about Asia in general, or Chinese culture in particular. This one, however, will find a special place on your list because of how different it is from all the rest. Although we can't say all of those differences are positive, they are unique, which is something! You have to admit, after a while, many of these games start looking the same, which is not a good sign if you're looking for a way to pass the time and win some money on the Internet.

If you love everything from the Orient, would love nothing more than to retire early, and enjoy well painted graphics, this game will probably fit the bill for you. It does nothing so great as to impress you, but it is well worth your time, and will pay you just enough to keep you going with spin after spin. The progressive jackpots are impressive, and the general pacing of everything is quite well done. If that sounds enticing to you, you should jump on it right now and give it a go!

What is This Slot About?

This game is about Chinese culture, and takes the lotus flower as its title symbol. This is somewhat strange as the Lotus itself does not feature into this game almost at all. There is actually only one image of it, and that is pretty much it! It should really be called wonderful Chinese artwork, the game, but that would not be quite as compelling to click on, and it would raise quite a few thin eyebrows! If you like Asian stuff, they made a game for you, and that sums this one up quite well.

How Does the Game Actually Play?

This is a very fast-paced game, which is exactly the opposite of everything the culture is known for! There are no relaxing times here, only fast-paced ones intended to win you lots of money. You can bet what you are used to, whether that is a penny or five dollars, and this is of course across 25 pay lines, and the five reel's that are standard to the genre. This makes the absolute most you can have a pop down for just a spin $125, which is about middle of the road for games of this kind. Most Asian games actually let you bet much higher, but we will knock them for that year!

What you can match are the main point of this game, and each image is very carefully chosen for what it stands for. There is a wonderful Chinese book, a lovely Chinese lady, various dragons, the number eight which has deep symbolic meaning in Chinese culture, an emperor, the great wall of China itself, a Chinese pagoda, and a white lotus. That image is the only thing about the lotus of the game, but it still comes up fairly often, it makes for some good bonus times! Those bonus rounds mostly give you free spins, which are welcome.

How's it Look?

Games about Asian culture around here look absolutely lovely. They are hand-painted, intricately done, and some of the most colorful things you'll ever see. That halfway describes this game, at least as far as the artwork you will see on the reels. That does not all describe what you will see in the background of the user interface, however, which somewhat rains on the entire parade, and casts a dark shadow over what would have otherwise been a very lovely outing. It is very dark, strange, it does not go with anything else at all. It also has no image behind the individual images, leaving it out translucent area which looks horrible. It is a simple thing, but if they had fix that one aspect of it, it would instantly look 1 million times better! It really is a shame, as everything else is painted well enough to look impressive.

Who is the Ideal Audience of this Particular Slot?

Even China fans will have a hard time sitting down with this one and being all that impressed. As we have said, this is somewhat due to the user interface, which ruins a lot of the potential that the graphics themselves had. Still, there is enough money and free spins involved here to keep a lot of people at their full attention for hours on end, which may be enough for some players to keep them going long into the night.

Summing it All Up - Should You Play This Fine Game?

Summing it up, White Lotus Slots is a low-key game about Asian Art that does not manage to come together completely well, but does just enough things right to be considered a success. They mostly rely on the progressive jackpot here, which real time gaming has come to be known for. The artwork itself is really good, which we say for the most part. The user interface, however, makes an otherwise great game look somewhat odd, and this may be offputting enough for some players to have them stay home and never fired up again. Give it a try and see if that describe you, and let the developers know if you would have it changed!
