Ghost Ship Slots
There are not many slots on the Internet with the balls to imitate Johnny Depp, or anything licensed by Disney. Ghost Ship game completely goes against the tide on that one, and in ways we quite enjoy! Taking the obvious source material from the Disneyland ride, and focusing on the more undead aspects of it, we love this game for what it is, and wish Disney would make a slot of its own so we wouldn't have to play ones like this! Still, this one is almost good enough to be by Disney itself, and feels well produced and very thoroughly considered around all of the edges. You will not be disappointed with what they did here, as it all comes together in a wonderfully grotesque package.
The art style is wonderful, the source material is great, and the special features are superb. You can win up to 25,000 times any bet that you make at most, and it is very fast-paced on top of that. Combine that with the many ghost ships that seem to show up anytime we played, and you have a very good chance of winning here. This is along side getting many free spins, which will keep you playing a lot longer than you thought given how little you can actually place on the single bet!
What is This Slot About?
This game is all about pirates, which happened to die somewhere out at sea, and are now hunting the rest of the earth searching for treasure and related things. It is a theme that Disney turned into a feature film, and anyone that claims otherwise is likely kidding themselves. No one else has ever done Pirates quite like that, and we're not sure we had even seen many ghost Pirates before that film itself. Everything about that, and the Davy Jones league of things, is what they chose to make of in this game. Those were some of our favorite parts, so we are not complaining!
How Does the Game Actually Play?
This game plays a lot faster than Pirates likely work, as we imagine being out on the ship for days at a time likely lead to a lot of monotony. Real time gaming certainly would never disappoint you here, so if you're a fan of any of the other games around here, which are all backed on the same software, then you will absolutely love this game too. The betting amounts here are not quite as high as you might be used to, but the coin sizes are as accessible as they have ever been. Even if you only have a penny to your name, you can get in and have a good time here. If you want to put in more, they will have you covered there too, it being very versatile in that respect. This is alongside the many bonus features that can come up, most of which will result in you waiting for spins.
You can match all kinds of cute and colorful things, or should we say creepy? That is the main theme of the game, but we still think a lot of them actually came out somewhat cute looking. You can match the captain ghost pirate himself, some sunken treasure he likely scours the earth for, a sunken statue that looks absolutely lovely, the cannons that fire from his ship, the bell of his ship itself, that ship, and many suits of playing cards that have been stylized to look like they are all moldy and mossy, which is about as close to undead as we imagine playing cards can get!
How's it Look?
The game looks lovely, and they poured every ounce of the budget into this aspect of it. You can tell from the user interface itself, which all looks fittingly creepy, and has a mossy look to it that looks entirely appropriate. Although we don't really like the logo of the game, it is also similarly stylized. The reel graphics themselves are where things shine, however, being hand painted, and looking very well done. They walk a fine line between too creepy to be endearing, and high quality production art, which they successfully managed to maintain on all of the graphics. We are not a huge fan of the suits of playing cards, but they are stylized enough to give them a pass.
What We Enjoyed
+ Pirate art + Jackpots
We We Didn't Much Care For
- Creepy!
Who is the Ideal Audience of this Particular Slot?
Obviously, if you have ever dressed up as a pirate for Halloween, then you obviously love this. It is basically a pirate themed Halloween, which is kind of a funny way to think of the Disney movie, but it is fitting! The jackpots are enough to get everyone else in on this, and if you are a fan of the source film that obviously inspired every single bit of this, then of course you will be all over this game, as Disney would never make an online casino game themselves. This is your only shot at it, so give it a go!
Summing it All Up - Should You Play This Fine Game?
Summing it up, Ghost Ship Slots is our favorite game about Jack Sparrow on the Internet, at least in the slot world. It is admittedly not the only one that has ever taken on that theme, but it is one of them that captured it the best we think. It is not quite as cartoony at some of the other attempts at this motif, but the realism does work well with the creepy direction they decided to take things in. If you are a fan of the movies, or just want some money, have a good old pirate time with this one right now!
