Roberta's Castle Slots
This is a game so pretty and pink that it is almost painful to look at if you are in a bad mood. It is so bright and cheerful that it will make your face hurt from all the smiling you will do. It is also so filled and lined with gold that you cannot help but think that's what your apartment is going to look like after you played it a few times. We personally did not quite get there, but we did do pretty well!
This is a wonderful take on the story book theme the combines it with money and is entirely well done. Whether it is the healthy jackpot or the high towers, there isn't much not to like about this fine game. Wonderfully done and expertly drawn, we cannot recommend you play it enough!
What is This Slot About?
This game is basically Rapunzel. That's the old story where there is a princess up at the castle that is trapped there, and only has hair to work with. Lots of hair, in fact. About 30 to 50 feet of hair. We're not sure how she grew that much hair up there considering she's trapped, but that's the tale, and it's very popular. Even made a Disney movie! That's how you know it's real. All real fairy tales get made into Disney movies, and if they don't, they did not make the cut in our book.
for those that are unfamiliar, the prince actually does end up saving her, but at the cost of her beautiful and gorgeous hair. Personally, we think she made the right decision, as what's the point of maintaining your hair when you're stuck up in the tower with absolutely no one but your cat to see it?
How Does the Game Actually Play?
Being a five real game that's based on fairytale, you would think that this game was all standard. You would be wrong, however!
Although it does play things fairly safe, and still has the standard number of pay lines sitting at 20, the different things you will be matching, along with the amazing progressive jackpot, serve to keep things very interesting. There is also a free spins feature which tends to come up all the time, in contrast to the prince, who can only go up and down that tower a grand total of once.
Specifically, you will be matching the usual suits of cards, along with Rapunzel's brush, her pet cat, a fancy mirror, a pretty prince, and Roberta herself, alongside her never use scissors.
The betting here starts off at just a single penny, and progresses is all the way up to the average total of five dollars for a coin. For those that were keeping up and did the math, this makes the top at that you could possibly place for a spend $100, which is nothing to sneeze at, but also nothing so high as the tower Rapunzel is in.
How's it Look?
If you ever wished Disney had made a slot machine, this game is about as close as you're going to get. Weather is the expertly drawn suits of cards with just the right amount of green in the background, or the beautifully expressive portraits of the princess and her prince, everything about this game looks so charming that your face will hurt. The only exception here is the hairbrush, which is somewhat ironic because that's technically one of the key components of the tale. There's no way she can brush her hair with a brush that small!
There really is not much here that doesn't look like it was made with skill and joy. It is so pretty that we actually wish they would have made a movie or a TV show instead of a slot. That goes along way to making things look very immersive, and none of it will ever feel cheap, the matter how long you play it.
What We Enjoyed
+ Great theme + Well drawn + Jackpots abound + Gold all around
We We Didn't Much Care For
- The tower graphic - How long she let her hair get - That all she had was a cat to keep her company up there for so long...
Who is the Ideal Audience of this Particular Slot?
This is a game for anyone that grew up with fairytales, and wish they had grown up playing slot machines instead. If you are looking for a high budget game with expert illustrations and experience to a strong narrative, this game comes pretty close. We think this probably describes a lot of people that frequent every movie Disney puts out, which is probably a very high number considering how well all of those movies do at retail! It's really quite amazing, we can't believe how many they sell.
Summing it All Up - Should You Play This Fine Game?
Summing it up, Roberta's Castle Slots is a game that was made with charm, about charming people, and overall just looks really great. If you are in the market for a slot that was based on a fairytale and fairly well drawn, you can do a lot worse than this game. There isn't much not to like about it, unless you just happen to be turned off by this kind of theme. If you are, we think that you need to rethink things, because this is just a really cute and charming game that will no doubt win you over!
