This is easily one of the best games of this kind on the market, and part of a franchise of well-made games with high production values on this theme. Featuring Rudolph himself battling against people that would steal Christmas, or perhaps getting revenge on Santa Claus himself, Return of the Rudolph is a game that takes the usual Christmas tropes that you are used to seeing, and replaces them with stylistic, edgy flair. We are all the happier for it, and quite a bit richer for having added it to our lineup! It really is great in that regard, being very fresh and inventive for a variety of reasons.

They took a theme that is cuter than it has any right to be, an artist that is way over qualified to be doing something like this, a graphic designer that clearly has some experience in a wide variety of industries, and brought them together with some solid play mechanics and some of the highest numbers of pay lines available on the market. When you add all of these things together, you get an absolute blast of an experience, that is also funny to see, wonderful to play for short or long periods, and a great investment of your time compared to almost anything else. This is a great game, part of a great series of games, and we think great people owe it to themselves to play it!

What is This Slot About?

You already know this game is about Christmas, unless you grew up without any of the associated tales, which is to say you grew up without a childhood. What this game does differently than almost all other Christmas games on the market, however, is act as a satire of that very theme. This game is about Rudolph battling it out to either save or stop Christmas, and no matter what he is doing, it all looks absolutely wonderful. We really enjoy everything about this theme, and I only wish they would make a cartoon series out of the wonderful artwork here!

How Does the Game Actually Play?

They hit this one out of the park, which real time gaming usually does, but they particularly did a good job here in that regard. The maximum bets, for example, go all the way up to $250 a spin. That is astronomically high, wonderfully risky, and the perfect way for us in particular to play. For those of you that would rather not bet so much at one time, however, they still have you covered. You can bet just a single penny for one of the coins, and that is enough to get you going. You could also jump up to five dollars a coin, however, which is how we prefer to do it. There are five reel's, with 50 total pay lines. This is double the amount you will find elsewhere, which in our book, makes for double the fun!

The real attraction here are the many wonderful and inventive things that you can match. These include stylized suits of playing cards that are some of the best in the business, an elf, a hall, Rudolph himself which is somewhat like the Grim Reaper here, Santa Claus, a sledge, a tattered teddy bear, some thugs, and a tied up dwarf that would have been one of Santa's helpers we are presuming.

How's it Look?

This is one of those rare games in the online casino world that looks so good that you could easily frame almost any of it on your wall. Rudolph himself looks absolutely stunning, like some kind of grim reaper ninja caring around a bat with a nail in it. We're not sure where they got this idea from, but it is one of the funniest things we have seen all year. Everything here has a nice painterly touch to it, the color scheme is wonderfully varied and saturated, and the user interface is impeccably done. They spared no expense here, everything looks like it was done with a great care and concern for production values, and we love every single thing about the way this came together, right down to the fonts they chose to use.

What We Enjoyed

We We Didn't Much Care For

- Nothing, great game!

Who is the Ideal Audience of this Particular Slot?

For Christmas fans, you will obviously love this one. If you are a fan of the Grinch, which is the Dr. Seuss tale about the strange green creature that stole Christmas, you will find similar themes here, which are highly enjoyable. If you love cartooning, or simply like to laugh, this one is also a good fit. If you simply love money, and need some of it to buy Christmas gifts for your friends and family, this one is also made just for you, and will fit the bill quite nicely.

Summing it All Up - Should You Play This Fine Game?

Summing it up, Return of the Rudolph Slots is part of a series of games that make fun of Christmas itself, casting Rudolph the red nose reindeer in a heroic role that he has probably never filled anywhere else with quite the same vigor and gusto. You have seen him elsewhere in cute cartoon form. Here, you can see him running around with a bat, almost like some kind of crusader coming to get you. For that reason alone, everyone needs to try this game. We have never seen anything else like it before on the market, aside from the other game that is a part of the same narrative series. It is a joy to play, pays you well enough for the time you invest, and rewards you with more than just money, which is a rare thing to see in the online casino world!
