We never in 1 million years would have expected that one of the prettiest games on the entire slot market would be about voodoo! A theme that is known for the grotesque and the ugly, this game is anything but. Although Voodoo Magic does feature many things that would be considered creepy, it is all well drawn and painted enough that it looks absolutely amazing. This may be our favorite rendition of voodoo on anything at all, which is saying a lot considering how often it has been used in storytelling! They certainly did a wonderful job here, and that is a testament to the developers that they could have taken such a problematic theme and make it sing.
Aside from that, in the game still would have been absolutely wonderful. Although the number of pay lines is limited, the maximum multipliers are very high, and everything moves along at a very rapid pace. This is an unexpected game on all fronts, surprising us in every way, and managing to exceed our meager expectations of it. We absolutely loved it, think they did a wonderful job, it would not change a thing about what you see here. What is This Slot About?
As you would expect from the title, this game is about voodoo, but simplifying it that much does not do it justice. This is a respectful and painterly take on what makes boutique, rendering it in the way you have never seen before, and making it all feel fresh and inviting. That's an odd thing to say about a game that looks so grotesque, but that's the truth! Everything about it is done to make it somewhat familiar despite the subject matter, which was a wonderful choice we think because otherwise we ourselves would have absolutely hated this game!
How Does the Game Actually Play?
This is a very fast-paced game with lots of payouts and multipliers for you to find. This is normal for real time gaming, so if you have played anything else built on the platform, you know what to expect. We say that in a good way, as they make some of the best slots in the entire business. Actually, they probably make the best slots overall! We love the stuff we have seen built on their software much more than what we see in Vegas.
All that aside, you will likely find a lot of what you see here to be very familiar, which is wonderful because you don't want to have to spend time learning how to play one of these games. There are five reel's, and only 13 play lines, the latter of which is almost half of what you would normally see here. The coin sizes are also a lot smaller too, starting at the typical pennies you would see, but only going up to $.25 a coin. This makes maximum bets not that high, which is OK, as not all of them need to be.
What you will be matching here is the main star of the show, and each and every image looks absolutely wonderful. The candles in particular are creepy, there is a lovely goblet that you will see, a scary looking kunai knife, a voodoo mask, a creepy necklace, the priestess her self, a skull, a scary snake, and of course, a voodoo doll, which is all most of us know about voodoo!
How's it Look?
The game is a wonder to see, and is drawn so well that it will make it hard to go back to lesser games with poor production values. High production values and high class is the best way to describe things, which again is odd because the game is about voodoo, but you can tell that's what it is even based on the screenshots. It is all handpainted, and everything looks good enough to hang up on your wall, provided you have a very creepy wall or are a very creepy person. Even though we absolutely hate the subject matter in all things that look grotesque, we absolutely loved it, which is saying just how well done this artwork actually is!
The user interface deserves special mention, fitting in perfectly with everything else, and receiving the same level of detail as you will see on the images themselves elsewhere. This is definitely not the case with most games, and goes along way to making you feel appreciated as a player.

Anyone that loves horror movies will certainly enjoy themselves here. If you are looking to broaden your horizons like we usually are, you also have a good time, it being a good enough game that even if you hate this sort of thing, you will likely have a joyous evening spent lost in the artwork and the winnings!

Summing it up, Voodoo Magic Slots is one of the prettiest games on the market, despite the subject matter being some of the most horrible you can possibly come up with. They took something that had all rights to be bad, and made it absolutely lovely. This is certainly a feat that the developers pulled off, using a bit of voodoo them selves to make it happen. We respect them quite a bit for this, and loved every moment we spent with the game. We won a lot, have a good time, and found ourselves with a new respect for the genre of the themes that it implied.
